![]() Baal's throne room are the best xp enemies so this is how you need to do it for maximum xp per time. If there were level 99 or even 95 enemies you could farm, it would take way less time. So once you start moving through the 90s, your xp per run plummets from about 5mil per run in the late 80s to about 16k per run 31k per run at level 98. You basically need to change to this strat at level 98 since xp from Baal's throne alone is absolutely terrible, and it'd actually take almost 10k runs for 98-99 from Baal and his minions alone, not the 4k I mentioned above.Īnd it's not that the amount of experience per level increases so drastically, it's that the enemies cap out around level 88 and there is a major xp penalty for killing enemies that are lower level than you are. Going from level 98 to 99 takes about 4000 of these runs! That alone takes ~250 hours under optimal conditions.Įdit: there is, but it involved quickly soloing Diablo and Nihlathak while the team works on Baal's throne. But each subsequent level will takes exponentially more runs. That's not too bad if it was linear moving forward and each level took about the same amount of time. ![]() ![]() At ~4 mins per run with loading screens, this will take about six hours assuming there is no time lost to any of a number of things. ![]() My barbarian is currently level 92 and it will take about 90 of these runs to get to 93. And if people leave, recruit new people to keep the 8 player runs going. You then repeat as long as everyone can stand to. I again just leech the xp with the 5% bonus xp weapon. Once the five waves are dead, Baal retreats and we go to the final room where it takes about 10-15 seconds to kill him. It wouldn't go faster if I helped anyway since this group is killing at near max speed. I don't even bother helping, instead swapping to a weapon that gives 5% extra xp and simply idle in a safe spot. The rest can just hang out and watch, although some also pitch in from afar. Because our characters are so well geared and powerful, only a couple of characters actually need to participate in killing the enemies. Once this is done, everyone else comes down and I give them Battle Orders for safety.īaal will now shoot out five waves of enemies that we need to kill one wave at a time. Once I'm done, the sorceress is already at the throne room (this is absurdly fast) and I take her portal to help them clear out the enemies in the area. While they do this, I go to fight a boss pack that always spawns near a waypoint for some easy extra xp. This takes about 30 seconds as they need to find their way through two randomly generated areas full of dangerous enemies. Then, one sorceress (the lynchpin of the run) teleports to the final area of the game- Baal's throne room. This is extremely valuable in Hardcore where death is permanent as it basically doubles player health and mana for several minutes. I start out by giving Battle Orders to the sorceresses. My Barbarian is mostly a support character in this run and essentially leeching xp. This is near peak efficiency and about as much XP/hour as you could hope for. Here is an optimized Baal run in a full 8 player game on the pc version: The best way to gain experience in the long run is by grinding Baal, the final boss, and his minions. I know it's been discussed elsewhere, but I wanted to further explain and try to illustrate the insane grind to level 99. Single player has different optimization as explained later in the thread by Resident eLail Late edit: this assumes online/multiplayer characters.
